The Holy Spirit is NOT a “it” What I mean by saying that is some people will say “Did you get it?” Referring to the Holy Spirit. Some one else may say “I got it”. Some one else may say “I never got it.” The Holy Spirit is not a “it.”
You do not want to be referred to as an “it.” So do not refer to the Holy Spirit as an “it.”
The Holy Spirit is not “an experience”. Some people only refer to the Holy Spirit as an experience. The Holy Spirit will give you experiences but He is not an experience.’’ The Holy Spirit is a “Divine Person.”
The Holy Spirit is a “DIVINE PERSON.” He should be referred to as a Divine Person the third person of the Trinity. He is just as much God as the Father and Jesus. The scriptures speak of God Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Some of the names of the Holy Spirit are: Teacher, Guide, Spirit of Truth, Comforter, Power of God, Regenerator Sanctifier, Helper, Stand-by, Counselor, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener.
These names of the Holy Spirit shows the vast ministry He has on the earth And all of the things He does for us that we may not have realized. Some of these names of the Holy Spirit are found in John 14:16-26.
In John 15:26 and John 16:7-15 both mention how the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus! One of the things all cults have in common. They never glorify Jesus. They may mention the of name God but they do not testify, honor or glorify Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is very sensitive and gentle and can be easily grieved according to Ephesians 4:29-32. The Amplified version of the bible says about this passage do not grieve, vex or sadden him.
First Thessalonians 5:19 says do not quench, subdue or suppress the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:13-16 says we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Other versions say He is the Deposit of our Inheritance. Second Corinthians 1:22 also says we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Revelation 13:16-18 says unbelievers will also be sealed with the the Mark of the Beast which is 666. Satan will seal his followers and God seals His followers.
When you accept Jesus you are BORN of the Spirit of God according to John 3:1-8. However, there is another endowment of being FILLED with the Holy Spirit. This is recorded in Acts 2:1-4. If you have accepted Jesus you are BORN of the Spirit of God. However if you have not been FILLED with the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:1-4 with the Evidence of Speaking in Tongues and you want this gift. Let’s pray right now.
Father God, your word says in Acts 2:1-4 they were FILLED with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. I would like that same gift. Please FILL me with your Holy Spirit and give me The gift of tongues in Jesus name!
In Acts 1:1-8 it says, The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he , you have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. When they were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord , will you at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? he said , It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in his own power. But you shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The word power in verse 8 above is the Greek word Dunamis which means the ability to accomplish ANYTHING! How can we accomplish ANYTHING? By praying in tongues in the spirit and listening to the Holy Spirit and obeying what he says! That is the dynamic power that has been placed inside us! REMEMBER GOD THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT IS IN US!
Romans Chapter 8:1-27 is talking about the Holy Spirit. In verses 26-27 it says, the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. These verses are saying when we are praying in tongues in the spirit the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us and he the Holy Spirit helps us obtain the WILL OF GOD! So if we will pray long enough eventually the Holy Spirit will give us an answer, a breakthrough, a healing, a miracle or whatever it is we need because he is going to help us obtain the WILL OF GOD! What a POWERFUL PROMISE THESE VERSES ARE!
