Faith is my favorite subject in the bible. Why? Because without Faith you cannot please God according to Hebrews 11:6. And I want to please God.
Hebrews 11:1 says Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. Let’s break this down and analyze it . The first word is Now. Faith is in the present tense. It is right Now! In other words when you are believing God for something believe he is doing it Right now! Not in the future but Now!
Next it says faith is the substance. Other translations say faith is the assurance, title deed or confirmation of things hoped for. Assurance means you know you will receive an answer to your prayer. Title deed is proof you will receive an answer to your prayer. When you have a title deed to a house, car or any possession. It is yours. The title deed is your proof. Well faith is your title deed or your proof that your prayer is answered!
Faith is also your confirmation. When you call a hotel and book a room they will give you a confirmation number. That is your proof you have a room. If you go to the hotel and they say there are no rooms available. You can show your confirmation number that you have a room.
If someone made a mistake. You can be bold and ask them to correct it because you have a confirmation number. Proof of your room. Faith is your confirmation of your prayer being answered.
One of the most powerful statements I have ever heard is. Faith is the currency of the spirit world! What does that mean? In the natural world if you have enough currency or money. You can buy anything that is for sale. You can exchange your money for any goods and services that are for sale.
Faith is the currency of the spirit world. If you show God faith he will allow you to exchange it for his promises!
So faith is the substance, assurance, title deed, confirmation and currency of the things you are hoping for. The evidence of the things you do not yet see. However, if you stand firm in faith you will see them!
Habakkuk 2;4 says, Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him but the just shall live by his faith.
Romans 1:17 says, For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written , The just shall live by faith.
Galatians 2:20 says, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 3:11 says, No man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 10:38 says, Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
All Four of these Scriptures say the same thing. GOD WANTS US TO LIVE BY FAITH!
What is your Level of Faith?
Matthew 6:25-30 is a story of Jesus saying if you are always worried about what you are going to eat, drink or what you are going to wear. You are always worried about paying your bills and taking care of your material needs. He concludes by saying in verse 30 If God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of “little faith.”
Matthew 8:5-10 is the story of the Roman Centurion who had a servant that was grievously tormented with the palsy. Jesus said, I will come and heal him. The Centurion says, I am not worthy for you to come under my roof, but if you will speak the word only my servant will be healed. Jesus marveled at this man’s faith and said to the Centurion you have GREAT FAITH!
Mark 4:35-41 tells us Jesus told the disciples that they were going to the other side of the lake and he went to sleep. Then a storm arose and the waves were in ship. His disciples were a nervous wreck and said “Master don’t you care we are perishing?” In verse 39 Jesus rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, “Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm” And he said, “Why are you so fearful? how is it that you have no faith?”
Romans 4:16-21 talks about how Abraham against (natural) hope believed in (supernatural) hope that he might become the father of many nations. Verse 19-21 says, “he was not weak in faith but was strong in faith and was fully persuaded that what God had promised him he was able also to perform.”
So there you have it all the Levels of Faith. Little Faith, Great Faith, No Faith, Weak Faith and Strong Faith. What is your Level of Faith?
How you react to the storms of life reveals your Level of Faith.
